The whole collection is divided into diffrent age groups. I know there are some for 18 month olds. You just have to read the back of the box and look on the color chart..it will tell you. I bought some at BURKE’S OUTLET for $1.99 a piece. They are really interesting. My daughter is almost 3 and she still watches them.

Yes indeed they are. I started my first 2 with books when they were 12 months old. By the time my 3rd came along it was books and T.V. Watching Captain Kangaroo, and… gee… I can’t remember the name of the show now. I just drew a blank! But, it was Big Bird, Elmo and the Cookie Monster (my kid’s favorite characters) and the rest of the gang. We didn’t have VCR’s when my children were young. But they learned a lot from the work books for their age groups. and the Kiddie T.V. shows. By the time they started school they were top of the class. I remember one time I was using flash cards with the kids with the alphabet. I laid them out on the table and would have them pick out a letter I called out. I ask my youngest (age 2 1/2) “Where is U”. He said “Mommy, I’m right here”!

At 18 months my daughter knew her alphabet and her numbers up to 30. She could spell her name and knew my name and phone number just in case. Anything you can do to stimulate the brain of your baby is the best thing you can do for them. Sesame Street, the alphabet song, and when you are trying to teach spelling do it is a song that goes up and down to make it easier to remember. Phone numbers are the same, counting etc. Flash cards of different colors are good too as long as you make it a game.

truth there reallt has not be enough studies on if these things actully work. how ever tv is actually bad for baby under two i dont rember why exactly something to do with commuication with others i think. the books cant hurt but dont spend to much money.
